Maximilian Benecke's winning streak is officially broken! Patrik Holzmann wins the fourth race of the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup Deutschland 2024.
The PECCD24 was the first one-make series in the world to be held on Orchard Road in Singapore. The special thing about the racetrack is that it was built especially for esports by the community for the community, making it the first purely virtual racetrack. Although Orchard Road is very short with a length of 3.2 kilometres, it still promises pure excitement! On the unique city circuit surrounded by Singapore's skyline, the drivers prove their skill and precision.
Orchard Road attracted three new drivers for the PECCD24 - Lukas Egger, Dominik Ladler and Flavio Tusithiphonexay qualified in the pre-qualification for the main race on Sunday. As expected, Maximilian Benecke secured first starting position in the main race, closely followed by Thibault Cazaubon and Patrik Holzmann in second and third place. First of all, the race Sunday turned out to be a race full of surprises and twists and turns.
The first race began immediately after the start with a moment of carelessness on the part of Lukas Mateja that led to a crash, causing him to drop back to last place. However, his attempts to fight his way forwards during race 1 were unsuccessful. He finished the race in 11th place ahead of Flavio Tusithiphonexay. The front field of the race once again consisted of the PECCD24 favorites: Max Benecke in first place, followed by Jiri Toman in second and Patrik Holzmann in third. This position determined the starting grid for the second race on the bends of Orchard Road.
In the first lap of the second race, the unbelievable happened – Holzmann managed to outpace his teammate Benecke in the third corner. However, this was only possible due to a slight contact between Toman and Benecke. Holzmann remained unstoppable throughout the race, securing the first place and thus interrupting Benecke's winning streak. The midfield displayed consistent driving behavior, with only Mateja managing to fight his way up from 11th to 7th position. Toman completed the podium in third place. Holzmann's precise lines make him a serious contender for Benecke. Will Benecke be able to recover from this setback in the fifth race in Atlanta? It remains exciting! Therefore, make sure not to miss Race 5 on March 10, 2024, and tune in to the PECCD24 livestream on the Porsche Twitch channel or RaceSpot TV YouTube channel.
