Race Report - Third race of the PECCD24 in Monza

Showdown on the virtual racetrack in Monza!

In the third race of the PECCD24, the simracers proved themselves on one of the oldest and most traditional racetracks in Europe, the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. In the royal park of Monza, the leaders of the PECCD24 once again fought a tough battle for the top three places. Even after the third race, Maximilian Benecke is still unbeatable in the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup Germany 2024!

In the two pre-qualification sessions on Friday and Saturday, most of the PECCD24's familiar faces qualified for the third race in Monza. Only Florian Bauer greeted the field of drivers as a new contender for the €25,000 prize pool. Team partners Enzo Bonito and Michal Šmìdl, who just qualified for the last race, are also back in the field. Bonito emerged as a hot rival to Benecke after the second race but failed to prove himself in Monza.

The main race on Sunday got off to a tense start. With initial difficulties, Benecke was worried about his pole position. But, how could it be otherwise, he regained his first place during the qualifying laps and started race 1 in Monza in the best grid position as usual. Thibault Cazaubon started Race 1 in second place and Moritz Löhner in third. The trio fought a tough three-way battle in the last lap of the first race, which ended unsuccessfully for Cazaubon and Löhner. Jiri Toman came back with a strong performance. He demonstrated his skills from the first race weekend of the PECCD24 and followed Patrik Holzmann to 5th place on the grid for race 2 in Monza. The showdown continued straight away in race 2. Cazaubon and Löhner fought a tough battle for second place. On lap 7, Löhner finally managed his overtaking manoeuvre and crossed the finish line in second place ahead of Cazaubon. His teammate, Toman, finished the race in 4th place. Benecke remains unbeatable: He has won every PECCD24 race since the first race weekend!

The racetracks for Race 4 and 5 are out! At the start of PECCD24, action was promised that you will get one hundred per cent with race weekend 4. Race 4 takes you to a very special track - Orchard Road. The track was designed by sim racers for sim racers and the PECCD24 is the first one-make cup to be held on the track. The fifth race weekend will be just as exciting. It's off to America to the state of Georgia on Road Atlanta. A lot of driving fun awaits the Simracers with 12 bends over a length of 4 kilometers. If you would like to compete on one of the two tracks yourself, simply register for the PECCD24 at https://www.peccd.racespot.tv/sign-up.
