Porsche 911 GT3 Cup on the home straight of the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Headline: Le grand défi.

8/25/2021

Round 5 in Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium.

It’s not every day you get the chance to celebrate your 300th race. That's why we’re inviting motorsport fans to join the drivers and teams for our big day, at the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. In Spa, where else.

The Ardennes roller coaster, as fans call the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, is one of the most popular events on the racing calendar. Its long straights and, above all, fast corners, push drivers to get the maximum out of their Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. Of course, only if the weather cooperates. Given the size of the circuit, it’s quite possible to have sunshine at one end and rain at the other. The conditions lead to considerable differences in grip – and even more excitement in the race. In short: a huge challenge, as the motto of the race "Le Grand Défi" suggests.

We're particularly looking forward to one of the most famous sequences of corners in the world, Eau Rouge and Raidillon. This is where the 32 drivers in the 5th round of the Porsche Supercup will lay down some serious rubber, ahead of the Formula 1 Rolex Belgian Grand Prix in 2021.

After his surprise appearance at the last race in Budapest, all eyes will be on French guest driver #35 Marvin Klein (FRA) from CLRT. And, of course, we're excited to see championship leader #25 Larry ten Voorde (NLD/Team GP Elite): At the start of May he won both races in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland at Spa – and he’s already enjoyed a run-out in the Porsche Supercup.
