Porsche factory driver: Michael Christensen

Compared to other drivers, Michael Christensen started comparatively late into karting. At ten-years-old, he began and quickly rose onto national and international levels. After spending eight years in carting, he took the plunge into formula motorsport and continued gathering experience there.

In 2011, Christensen started making a name of himself in GT sport. With success: 2012 he managed to fully switch to GT sport and join the Porsche Junior program. That finally gave Michael the chance to achieve something he had been hoping for: earn a living from motorsport alone.

Now, the Dane has finally fulfilled that goal. When he isn’t on the road, he spends time with his family. But he enjoys travelling around the world and participating in races. To do that successfully, he also thinks about his driving style: He describes himself as conservative driver who weighs risk and benefit carefully. For him, that’s the key to a successful endurance race.

It’s an honor being in the fight for winning the world championship and overall victory in Le Mans.

With his experience in the GT vehicle class of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and as Porsche factory driver, the Dane has excellent chances for the upcoming WEC season and the endurance races of the IMSA.
