Porsche factory driver: Dane Cameron

As the son of race engineer Rick Cameron, young Dane Cameron is no stranger to motorsports. But his talent behind the wheel isn’t just genetics: he has fought for it with passion, consistency, and perseverance.

 

Throughout the course of his childhood, Dane Cameron spent most of his time on kart tracks or wherever there was enough space to drive with a kart. In the latter case, he spent a lot of time in parking lots, one of which is no the site of the SimRaceway School in Sonoma, California.

 

Early in his career, Cameron raced prototype in the IMSA race series. He quickly became a regular podium finisher and even took the top spot. Most recently, he raced for Acura in the IMSA DPi class. With his experience and interest in the technical side of motorsports, it was clear cut to involve the American in the testing phase of the Porsche 963.

In the upcoming season, Dane Cameron is ready for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and will be participating on various tracks on the American continent.
