ALL OR NOTHING: PORSCHE COANDA PREPARES FOR THE ESL R1 FALL MAJOR

Fasten your seatbelts, it’s time for the ESL R1 Fall Major, the finale of the Fall season.

After 8 highly competitive online rounds that took ESL R1 drivers virtually from North American classic tracks like Daytona and Road Atlanta to European race calendar staples such as Monza and the Nürburgring, November's Fall Major will take place at a large-scale physical event in Jönköping, Sweden, where 24 of the world’s best Sim Racing drivers will battle it out for the much-coveted ESL R1 Driver Championship crown.

The Journey to Jönköping

The Porsche Coanda Esports Racing Team will be represented by three members at the ESL R1 Fall Major - Josh Rogers, Dayne Warren and Mitchell deJong, with the entire team performing exceptionally over the course of the eight online rounds to secure an excellent second-place finish in the Team Championship – an improvement on their third-place Spring season result.

After a strong start in the Fall season’s first four rounds in Monza, Spa-Francorchamps, Hockenheim and the Nürburgring, the Porsche Coanda Esports Racing Team saw themselves gain more and more momentum, subsequently yielding a flurry of impressive results as they shifted into a higher gear for the latter half of the Fall season.

Round 5 saw Dayne Warren put in a series of outstanding performances that culminated in a well-earned pole position for the final, whilst Josh Rogers swept up two podiums in the last three rounds of the Fall season, including a Round 8 final win that brings him up to P2 in the Driver Championship. Certainly a fantastic way to finish the season ahead of the fast-approaching Fall Major.

Close behind Rogers in the driver standings is compatriot Dayne Warren in P7, with Mitchell deJong finishing in P21 and Mack Bakkum in P33, who unfortunately misses out on a spot in Jönköping, Sweden.

The ESL R1 Fall Major

Taking place between November 24-25 at the Dreamhack Winter Festival, the ESL R1 Fall Major is set to last long in the memory of those in the world of Sim Racing, owing to its almost incredible magnitude.

Dreamhack Winter is a vastly prominent gaming convention held annually in Jönköping, Sweden, and regularly features top Esports tournaments, gigantic LAN parties, an exhibition area showcasing the latest gaming products, and activities such as cosplay, panel discussions, and workshops.

The event draws gamers, esports enthusiasts, and industry professionals from all around the world, making it the perfect setting for a tournament with the online racing significance of the ESL R1 Fall Major.

After one practice day where the drivers can ready themselves for a weekend of all-out action, the Fall Major will take place over another two days of virtual action, where the Fall season’s 24 best drivers (the top half of the grid) compete for a shot at the Driver Championship.

After the first day of racing, the twelve best-performing drivers will then qualify for a second day of action, where they’ll then go wheel-to-wheel in search of the Driver Championship title.
