Ready to start: the Porsche Penske Motorsport drivers in Le Mans.
The most reknown endurance race of the World Endurance Championship is fast approaching: The 24 Hours of Le Mans are taking place on June 10 and 11. In 2023, they are monumental for all participants, as it is the 100th anniversary of the race and for Porsche the 75th. For these extraordinary events, Porsche Penske Motorsport is entering the grid of the Sarthe with three vehicles.
Another Porsche 963 is bound to enter the grid in Le Mans, this time with the starting number #75: 75 for the 75th anniversary of Porsche. But an amazing race car needs equally talented drivers. For that, the Porsche Penske Motorsport WEC team called for support from their colleagues active in the IMSA. The vehicle #75 will be manned by Felipe Nasr, Nick Tandy and Mathieu Jaminet, while Matt Campbell will be on stand-by as additional driver. With this squad, the driver line-up for the legendary race in Le Mans is complete.
Well-prepared.
Beside Nasr, Tandy, Jaminet and Campbell, vehicle #5 will be manned by Dane Cameron, Michael Christensen and Frédérick Makowiecki, and Kévin Estre, Laurens Vanthoor and André Lotterer in #6. All of them bring their experiences from previous races in Le Mans or other international race tracks to make the 20th overall victory possible for Porsche.
The race is bound to be thrilling, as the Porsche Penske Motorsport Team has been working hard since the first WEC race to unleash previously untapped potential. Meanwhile, their competition Ferrari, Cadillac, Toyota and Peugeot have already gatherd quite a bit of experience in the previous season.
Still, the team is ambitious: for there is no greater anniversary present than another record.
