Season Recap - Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB

Following its successful introduction in 2021, Porsche Esports Carrera Cup GB, the virtual championship for professional sim racers, made its return for 2022 with a full calendar of 16 races taking place across eight weekends. Competitors fought for an increased prize pot of £15,000 while fans were able to follow the action via a dedicated livestream featuring professional commentary and post-race driver interviews.

Kevin Ellis Jr and Sebastian Job entered the final weekend at a virtual Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit in contention for championship glory. Reigning champion Job did everything possible to take the fight down to the very last lap of the final race. However, Ellis Jr ultimately emerged ahead to be crowned a worthy 2022 champion, both drivers claiming five wins each so close was the contest.

Ellis Jr was presented with his championship trophy at a special event held at the Porsche Experience Centre, Silverstone. The Scotsman met Porsche Carrera Cup GB 2022 / 2023 Junior Adam Smalley who guided him around his 911 GT3 Cup car. The Esports star was also treated to a taste of a 911 road car with a special driving experience around the Porsche handling circuit.
