A season start with mixed feelings. Review 8h of Bahrain.

The expectations towards the Porsche Coanda Esports Racing Team were high for the season start of the Le Mans Virtual Series. The team's motivation was even higher to compete with two LMP2 cars at the front of the field. Partly, the team was rewarded for their efforts at the debut race at the 8h of Bahrain. A disappointing qualifying and a technical failure during the race's starting phase led to mixed feelings within the Porsche Coanda Team.

Almost a perfect lap. The qualifying.

A team that is used to always fight for pole position, was disappointed after the qualifying. In the end, Joshua Rogers and Mitchell deJong had to accept P6 and P12 in LMP2 qualifying. The gap of 0.392 seconds from the sixth-placed #23 car and 0.585 from the #20 car to pole position demonstrates how competitive the qualifying was.

Strong start followed a premature end. Review for the Porsche Coanda #23 car.

Tense, highly motivated and fully focused, these attributes describe the first race moments of Joshua Rogers, who, starting from 6th place, wanted to take on the chase from lap 1 onwards. Courageous manoeuvres, strong pace, and the required talent showed what would have been possible. But the racing god had other plans for the Porsche Coanda team #23. On the in-lap of the first stint, they had a technical defect shortly before the pit stop. Suddenly everything went pitch black on screen. The team found themselves in the pit lane when they returned to the servers. Unfortunately, the rules set them to the status before failure. The team just had not enough virtual fuel in their car to complete another in-lap. The #23 car was stuck in the pits.

Remarkable strategy and a flawless race. Review for the Porsche Coanda #20 car.

The starting phase was relatively uneventful for our Porsche Coanda #20 drivers Mitchell deJong, Tommy Østgaard, and Zac Campbell. This is, in fact, a good thing when you start from P12. The three pro drivers showed an almost perfect drive during the 8h of Bahrain and didn't make a single mistake. In the end, the three piloted the #20 car to P4, having started in P12. A remarkable result and quite the comeback after Friday's disappointing qualifying result.

Round #2 at the Temple of Speed.

The world’s elite sim racers will meet again in early October for round #2 of the Le Mans Virtual Series in Monza – also known as the Temple of Speed. The 4h race will again be a speed showdown and challenge for the two Porsche Coanda cars.
