Turbo boost for motorsport careers.

What a talent: Laurin Heinrich has beaten 11 fellow candidates in the race to be named Porsche Junior 2022. And that alone is a major achievement.

The best of the Juniors.

Porsche Junior? For anyone who's not yet heard of this term yet, here's a brief explanation: Porsche Motorsport has always promoted new talent. We consider ourselves to be talent scouts for GT motorsport. Our Porsche Junior programme sponsors talented motorsport amateurs. To qualify for this, talented drivers are put through their paces in a tough selection process. Before one of them is finally crowned Porsche Junior for the coming season.

Excitement in Spain.

Speaking of the selection process: this year, it was held in Spain, at MotorLand Aragón to be more precise. In addition to pure speed, the selection criteria also includes mental and physical fitness, a technical understanding and an ability to work alongside race engineers and to interact with media. 20-year-old Laurin Heinrich completely convinced Thomas Laudenbach, Vice President of Porsche Motorsport, in all disciplines.

A veteran at the tender age of 20.

But who is Laurin Heinrich? A motorsport enthusiast through and through: he gained his first experience of karting at the age of ten. And completed his first full season aged 14. Before moving to Formula 4 as a driver in his father's team. In 2019, he made his début in the highly competitive Porsche Sports Cup. With great success: Laurin beat more than 40 rivals to take home the GT3 title. In 2020, he then tackled the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland, clinching four podium finishes during his début year. So Laurin's goal of winning the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup is entirely achievable. Watch this space.
