Porsche 911 GT3 Cup on Hungarorings’ start-finish straight with the text Huszárvágta (Hungarian for hussar ride)

7/28/2021

Round 4 in Budapest, Ungarn.

After several weeks off, the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup is back on July 30 – this time, at the Hungaroring, with all its curves and tradition, as part of the Formula 1 Magyar Nagydíj 2021. Who will come out on top at the halfway point of the racing season?

Like the cavalry of the ancient Huszárvágta (Hussar's Ride), the 31 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars on the grid this weekend are ready to charge onto the Hungarian asphalt for the 30th time since 1993. This history makes the Hungaroring the longest-serving circuit on the Porsche Supercup calendar. With its tight corners and few straights, the circuit promises demanding racing action at the highest level.

Will New Zealander #20 Jaxon Evans (Martinet by Alméras) manage to close the 12-point gap to overall leader #25 Larry ten Voorde (NLD/Team GP Elite)? Or can #3 Dylan Pereira (LUX/BWT Lechner Racing) repeat his Budapest victory from last year and continue his recent improvement? And in the tight Rookie and ProAm Classifications, who will seize the chance to pull away from the rest of the field? Either way, it’s going to be a hot summer weekend in the Puszta...
