Team player, project manager, motorsport fan. Jan Feldmann on the new 911 GT3 Cup.

To the delight of motorsport fans everywhere, there are only a few days to go until the new 911 GT3 Cup is let loose in a competition for the very first time. We see this as the perfect moment to speak to someone who played a crucial role in making this breathtaking race car what it is.

Jan Feldmann – 911 GT3 Cup project manager.

Even as a child, Jan Feldmann always looked up to the motorsport racers from Flacht. A few years later, Jan himself was in a position to make childhood dreams come true: as a project manager in charge at Porsche Motorsport, it was down to him to help write and accelerate the future of the 911 GT3 Cup.

When there's an opportunity to develop a new generation of the 911 GT3 Cup, the whole team is constantly brimming with motivation.

The perfect team.

Jan Feldmann wasn't just faced with the technical challenges of the development phase. He was also responsible for bringing the individual groups within the project together. In the end, the first race car based on the eighth generation of the 911 was a success because, above all, it was driven by team spirit. A perfect symbiosis of 'old school' and youthful ingenuity.

Many customers have hoped for a race car with even less compromise – and with the new Cup, we can definitely give them that.

How to make something good, even better.

The first race in a Porsche One-Make-Series took place over 30 years ago. Today, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is quite simply the ultimate customer sports car. It is used in the international Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, in Carrera Cups and in other racing series worldwide. It therefore comes as no surprise that this is the best-selling race car of all time. Not only from Porsche. And the biggest advantage for Jan? He's been able to obtain plenty of different opinions and wishes. The vehicle should radiate even more motorsport. A wish that Jan most probably had on his own list.

Cut from the same cloth. The motorsport DNA is in every Porsche.

When it comes to Porsche, racing and road vehicles are not always easy to tell apart. For this reason, it's not surprising that the new 911 GT3 and the new 911 GT3 Cup share similar technologies and parts. Not only do they feature the same body parts, these two high-performance athletes also share one heart: the engine. Behind all the technologies, performance stats and race victories is, most importantly, the team. Engineers, technicians, racing drivers and customer teams are all propelled by one shared drive. At Porsche Motorsport, we call this #DreamSpirit – because many years of experience have taught us that dreams only come true when you work as a team.
