The sixth race of the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup at the Brands Hatch Circuit really kept us on the edge of our seats. Defending champion Joshua Rogers was able to repeat his performance from Road Atlanta and took the victory in the 30-minute main race. The Spanish driver Alejandro Sánchez showed that you can't count him out this year, as he won the sprint race on the 3.9km-long race track in England. Finishing in second place in the sprint race and third in the main race, British driver Sebastian Job once again secured enough points to finish at the top of the overall table.

The spell seems to be broken: drivers other than Joshua Rogers can also win qualifying races in this season of the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup - just as Dayne Warren impressively proved this weekend. However, having already won five qualifying rounds – and with only four more to go – the Australian is almost certain to win the non-cash prize from title sponsor TAG Heuer.

As always, the drivers started the sprint race in reverse order. Jamie Fluke and Alejandro Sánchez started the race from the front row. Sánchez used his speed on the second lap to pass Fluke and control the race from the front. A clever move, as behind him battle commenced for every inch of the track. Of course, Sebastian Job and Joshua Rogers, leaders of the overall classification, found themselves in the midst of the action. The two stormed to the top, past Yohann Harth, who delivered a strong performance. However, he did not have much time to resist the pressure of the two title contenders. Even Jamie Fluke was unable to defend second place. Five minutes before the end of the sprint race, he fought a heated battle with Rogers, from which Job emerged victorious and overtook both of them. Rogers went on to defend his position, finishing in third place.

The 30-minute main race started with a big surprise: as early in the first lap, Sánchez and Job collided, dropping a few places with Sánchez immediately coming under pressure from Joshua Rogers. The back of the field also saw several collisions and nerve-racking duels.Tommy Østgaard capitalised on a mistake by Max Benecke to initially pass the German. However, the Norwegian could see Benecke getting ever closer in his rear-view mirror, fighting his way back to his position. Meanwhile, Sebastian Job fought a duel with Jamie Fluke, having fallen behind him after his collision on the first lap. While this was happening, Sánchez and Rogers were extending their lead over the rest of the field. Exactly halfway through the main race, the Australian overtook Sánchez and was now leading the race. By no means comfortable but a true motorsport thriller. The young Australian put his experience to good use and was able to control the race from position one until the end. Sánchez crossed the finish line ahead of Sebastian Job in second place.

The young Spaniard Alejandro Sánchez from MSI eSports has now ranked up his sixth and seventh consecutive podium finishes in this year's Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup. A truly impressive performance, which more than justifies his third place in the overall ranking. With 333 points, the Spaniard ranks behind second-placed Rogers with 346 and the overall leader Jobs with 360 points. A close contest at the top of the table with four races remaining.

And, of course, the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup still has an excellent programme to come; on 29 August, the SimRacing elite from around the world will meet at one of the most demanding race tracks in the world: Spa-Francorchamps. Many motorsport legends have been shaped by the ‘roller coaster’ in Belgium. Now it's time for the SimRacers to prove themselves on the virtual track.
