Max driving action in Barcelona.

Sometimes there is only a week between joy and sorrow. This is especially true these days for Max Benecke. After he had to go through a very disappointing race weekend in Zandvoort a week ago, the one in Barcelona proved to be the complete opposite. Max crossed the finish line first in both races, securing an impressive one-two in the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup and decisive points in the overall standings.

A brilliant start to the sprint race.

From the moment the lights turned green, action was guaranteed. With a perfect start, Max Benecke, coming from row 2, overtook all his competitors and, without much pressure, took first place in turn 1. The drivers behind him pushed wheel to wheel through the curves of the virtual track in Barcelona. But the end of the first lap was charged with tension: after a driving mistake by Sebastian Job, Joshua Rogers took advantage of the gap and passed the winner of the race in Zandvoort. However, his luck did not last long. After a collision, Rogers spun across the track.Sebastian Job was able to avoid hitting Rogers, but crashed into the car of Max Verstappen and also went off the track. For Rogers as well as for Job it meant the end of this sprint race. Max Benecke led the race - without leaving any doubt about his victory. By taking first place in the sprint race, the driver with starting number 11 also secured pole position for the 30-minute main race.

Double Max on the podium.

Even at the start of the 30-minute main race, it was clear that Benecke wanted to leave no doubt about this race as well. A splendid start-finish victory followed for the German. But the start in the main race was also a great springboard for the Formula 1 driver and Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup rookie Max Verstappen. Coming from position 7 on the grid, Verstappen wanted to avoid a collision in curve 1 at all costs and took the outer lane past all his opponents - which meant he advanced to position 3. A great overtaking manoeuvre against Sindre Setsaas secured second place in the race for Verstappen in the white-orange Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. It seems that Team Redline has found the speed that was missing in the first race at the right time. Sindre Setsaas from Team CoRe Simracing finished 3rd in the main race. He fought a thrilling fight over several laps with Dayne Warren. In the end, he successfully defended his podium position.

Short break for the drivers.

The drivers only have a short break to prepare themselves before race weekend #3. We are curious to see what sort of drama the race weekend in Donington Park on 23rd May will bring. As usual, the race will be shown live on the Porsche YouTube and Twitch channel.
