Next Saturday is a day that radiates motorsport: Not only is the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Virtual Edition due with two races – but the ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge is bound to start on April 25. Even if the current season of the Formula E is on hold, fans and drivers of the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team don’t need to wait much longer for races to take place. Furthermore, the ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge – founded together with race series partner UNICEF – is for a good cause: It raises funds for UNICEF.
Throughout the 9-week-long eSports competition, all Formula E teams along with a draft of the best sim racers will participate in separate races. Fans of electrified motorsports can watch 2 races each weekend. April 25 is also when things get serious for both Porsche drivers, Neel Jani and André Lotterer – that’s when teams and drivers compete as usual. Even in sim racing, all drivers start with the same conditions: the same software and the same gaming equipment. Fans can watch the race in the livestream. The ABB Formula E Race at Home Challenge will be available globally on the official Formula E Social Media channels, along with the Facebook Gaming Site and Twitch channel.
But there’s more yet to Super Sim Racing Saturday: The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup in its Virtual Edition is a sensation since the last few races, thrilling not only the participants, but the fans as well. They especially can get in on the motorsport action thanks to the livestream – not from the stands, but from their homes. Also, the drivers are off to the virtual Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium on Saturday, April 25: That’s where the races 5 and 6 are due to take place and re-open the battle for points and victories.
