The teams and drivers just finished the first race of the virtual Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, and the next are already lining up. This time, it’s off to Great Britain – without the hassle of travel.
All 31 drivers proved just how exciting and close it can get in the newly created Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Virtual Edition from the start of the season in Barcelona. Larry ten Voorde and Porsche Young Professional Ayhancan Güven already won in the first two races: While Larry ten Voorde barely asserted himself in the opening race, Ayhancan Güven won the second race and proved the scope of his talent. The young Porsche Pilot delivered a fantastic race in the second run on the digital equivalent of the Spanish Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on the iRacing platform.
The next stop of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Virtual Edition takes place on April 18 in Great Britain. There, another highlight of the season expects the drivers: the Silverstone Circuit. The 18 curves on the 5.9-kilometer-long racetrack will be demanding for the drivers – and for the digital versions of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race cars, the circuit will also be an endurance test. Just how everyone involved will prepare themselves for the race on the Isle is yet to be seen.
One thing is for sure: It’ll be without the hassle of travel.
