The long way: Welcome to Riyadh.

The clock is ticking, and the final preparations are in full swing. Tomorrow it will be getting serious for our pilots André Lotterer and Neel Jani in the desert city.

Somehow it is poetic that the first race is due to take place in the far away Riyadh. The road to reach it was long – in the truest sense of the word. In the beginning there was zero. Bar the unconditional will to be part of the most modern racing series of the world. Everything else had to be earned through countless working hours. For this reason, too, the trip to Riyadh was filled with anticipation. And hunger for the first race. But before we start tomorrow morning with two free practice sessions, followed by the qualifying and finally for the race at noon, there is still a lot of work to do.

The trip to Riyadh was not made with only two bags and a small suitcase. No, the box of the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team is full: Race cars, spare parts, technology and much more took the long way from Flacht to Riyadh and survived in one piece. All material needs to be unpacked, checked and prepared for the race. The last preparations of the box are due. Today the official trackwalk already took place. The atmosphere was relaxed yet focused when the team went to the Ad-Diriyah Formula E Circuit to inspect the track. They exchanged ideas and possibly already discussed the first strategic tricks – all speculation, of course. The exact contents of the discussion remain a well-kept team secret. Tomorrow we'll just have to see what André Lotterer, Neel Jani and the race engineers have prepared for their first race. We are thrilled.
