Scandinavia celebrates first Porsche Esports Carrera Cup champion.

Countdown to the championship: 3,000 sim racers, five weeks of qualifying, four online rounds. Then the 12 finalists for the first Porsche Esports Carrera Cup Scandinavia are determined. A showdown featuring the best of the best in the virtual racing series, all with one goal – to bring home the cup.

On November 23, 2019, Porsche Centre Danderyd resembled a race track. Cameras, live broadcasts, waving flags – a brilliant evening for all e-athletes, motorsport enthusiasts and Porsche fans. The championship of the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup Scandinavia will be sealed here tonight. With live commentary from famous experts in motorsport.

300 guests, including prominent e-athletes and motorsport drivers, will sit in the audience, such as esports star Emil "Heaton" Christensen. And the top three of the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia (PCCS), led by the winner of this year's racing series, Lucas Sundahl.

The atmosphere is electrifying as the 12 finalists run onto the stage. There Janne Blomqvist, Sweden's leading motorsport journalist, is waiting for the sim racers to take their places. Then the starting flag falls for the first race of the esports event: on the Ring Knutstorp race track. The esports cars start.

Mattias Stahre finds the fastest line and takes the first victory of the evening with his Porsche Sundahl Racing. Almost a twist of fate. Because his car is the virtual twin of the race car with which Lukas Sundahl won the PCCS title just a few weeks earlier.

The thrill for drivers and spectators enters the second round: Gellerasen Arena. With Mantorp Park, the third race track and final decision of the esport event follows.

And then comes the moment they all fought so hard for: the races are over. The black and white checkered flag has fallen. The championship has been decided. Kimmy Larsson and Tobias Ohlsson take to the podium in third and second place. They are cheered by the overall winner of the first Porsche Esports Carrera Cup Scandinavia: Mattias Stahre. Victory on all three race tracks and thus undisputed number one of the evening. A huge success for the 30-year-old who can hardly believe it himself. But he’s not the only one celebrating.
