Motorsport is passion. It’s about precision, split seconds and having a partner you can rely on by your side. When the start light goes green and the race starts, everything has to be right. The car, the engine, the team: all the cogs have to fit together like Swiss clockwork.
Long distance isn’t confined to race cars.
On 28 August 1983, the McLaren Formula 1 race car started at the Dutch Grand Prix with an extraordinary highlight: its new heart. “TAG Turbo made by Porsche” was written on the 1,050PS engine of the car. Commissioned by the British racing team thanks to the help of TAG Heuer, developed by Porsche. By 1987 this engine had won 25 Grand Prix, three World Drivers' Championships and two constructor's titles. Two exciting motorsport brands have come together in TAG Heuer and Porsche. But this isn’t the first time they’ve met. As early as the end of the sixties, TAG Heuer was the partner of Jo Siffert, who started in a Porsche. The subsequent years would see many long distance successes and the Porsche victory at the World Sportscar Championship in 1969 celebrated together. To this day, TAG Heuer has been a reliable partner in numerous Porsche Cups. Two extraordinary brands connected across time.
