Excellent prospects for Daytona.

0.001 seconds. A millisecond. The time it takes to blink an eye. There was so little time between the fastest and second fastest lap in the GTLM class at the “Roar Before the 24” – the official test session before the 24h of Daytona on 25 and 26 January.

But we were anything but disappointed that our works driver, Nick Tandy in the #911 Porsche 911 RSR, so narrowly missed the best time. Because Tandy not only had to adapt to the new 911 RSR, but also to the new tyres introduced at IMSA.

For us, achieving such a good result at the first attempt with these two unknowns is a perfect omen for the forthcoming 24h race. In Daytona, however, not only the 911 RSR is making its works team début in the IMSA SportsCar Championship. But also Matt Campbell. The former Porsche Young Professional and Le Mans winner in the LMGTE-Am class is sharing the cockpit with Nick Tandy and Fred Makowiecki.

The race will also be exciting for the Porsche #912: Mathieu Jaminet is supporting the reigning Champions, Laurens Vanthoor and Earl Bamber, in the first race of their targeted title defence. Excellent prospects for a thrilling and successful race.
