For over 25 years, Nick Tandy has been battling for spots on the podium on various racetracks. And Porsche and the IMSA are both well-known to him: from 2010 to 2012, he participated in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup Championship and Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, managing to achieve good placements on a regular basis. In the years 2013 to 2020, Nick Tandy was active as Porsche factory driver and raced in the GT class of the IMSA.
Despite his successes, the born Brit remained down-to-earth. To this day, he helps his father on the family farm and spends as much time as possible with his two children. But privately spending time away from the racetrack? That is out of the question: Nick Tandy runs the Joe Tandy Racing (JTR) race team – once founded by his brother so Nick could compete in the British Formula Ford Championship.
Now, the 38-year-old is back in the Porsche Penske Motorsport Team and ready, to face a new challenge: the GTP class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with the Porsche 963.
Porsche Werksfahrer: Nick Tandy.
I may have had some time away, but I’m back and I plan that my success story so far with Porsche Motorsport is just the beginning.
Since 2010, Nick Tandy only knows one thing in motorsport: race cars. And that’s unlikely to change anytime soon. With his experience on various international racetracks and Porsche Motorsport, he is ready to face the tracks of the IMSA once more and race all the way to a podium spot.
