Balm for the soul of motorsport fans: Round 6 at Spa-Francorchamps.

The Ardennes forests offer relaxation and healing springs. But at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, it's a different story. For almost 100 years, this track has been about high-speed racing and adrenaline – especially during the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.

For motorsport fans, the sound of engines is pure bliss and the battles for position are the ultimate source of endorphins. It's no coincidence that Spa-Francorchamps is a spa town and the circuit itself a healing place for high-speed junkies from all over the world. They love the occasionally rough weather in the Ardennes, just as others love the sun off Capri. After all, it guarantees extra thrilling races. Accordingly, this Belgian classic demands driving skill, but above all, courage from those on the track: Keeping your right foot down through the Eau Rouge/Raidillon combination, even when your mind is telling you otherwise, is unparalleled. It’s no wonder this traditional circuit is known by the evocative nickname “Ardennes Rollercoaster.”

Here, horsepower can still run free – and there's plenty of room to do so. Specifically, 7.004 kilometres, famous for exciting combinations of high-speed straights and technically challenging corners with their distinctive yellow-red kerbs. Last year, just over 18 years old, Morris Schuring claimed victory here, becoming the youngest Porsche Supercup race winner of the series. Spa-Francorchamps is simply living motorsport history.

The championship enters its decisive phase.

In the 2024 season, the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps plays a crucial role in the championship. After Harry King (GBR) broke the winning streak of championship leader Larry ten Voorde (NLD) in the previous race at the Hungaroring, he needs to follow up with another strong performance. Only then can the Brit close the 10-point gap to the Dutchman. King also has to keep an eye on Ten Voorde's teammates: Marvin Klein (FRA) is just 13 points behind him, and Alessandro Ghiretti (FRA) recently won both races of the Carrera Cup France at Spa.

Absolutely, I want to build on my recent double victory here in the French Carrera Cup when we race at Spa.

Among the 27 drivers in the Porsche Supercup field at Spa-Francorchamps, many have their sights set on victory. The leader of the Rookie Classification, Kas Haverkort (NLD), is certainly fired up after his double podium in Budapest (Overall P3, Rookie P1). The two drivers from the Italian guest team SP Racing - Swiss Eagle are also eager to make their mark in the Ardennes, as is Flynt Schuring (NLD), the younger brother of the aforementioned Morris. Flynt is making a guest appearance for Proton Huber Competition. Cedric Chassang (NLD) has taken a liking to the Porsche Supercup and will be taking the wheel of a GP ELITE car for the second time following his race in Budapest.
