Let's get going: Round 1 in Imola.

So far, it's all been practice – from now on, it's all about overall victory. We will only know the real potential of the participants in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2024 after the race weekend in Imola.

We realise it every time: Il Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari – that sounds as wonderful as racing can be. All the better to hear the distinctive sound of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup here again! After the forced break of the Supercup 2023 due to the weather, the pinnacle of the international Porsche one-make series will start again in Imola as part of the Formula 1 Gran Premio Emilia-Romagna 2024. And all participants are already looking forward to the unique mix of full-throttle passages, chicanes and ‘Motorismo Passione’.

While Formula 1 is still in the pits, the drivers of the seven permanent teams for 2024 are already on the road between Acque Minerali and Tamburello. Together with the professionals from the two Italian guest teams The Driving Experiences and Prima Ghinzani, they will be battling for P1 to P30 – it's going to be epic.

I am delighted that we will be able to race in Imola again in 2024. Our driver line-up is top-class as usual – and a guarantee that we will deliver the best racing for the fans. We owe them that much after the cancellation of the race in 2023.

Top-class field of drivers promises a close race.

Although the overall winner of the 2023 season – Bastian Buus – will not be competing in the 2024 Supercup, his toughest rival in 2023 and renewed co-favourite for the new season will be: Larry ten Voorde. And he has never finished P1 in the Supercup in Imola. This means that the two-time Overall Champion from the Netherlands will have been itching to floor it for the entire pre-season in order to clinch victory here for his new team Schumacher CLRT. However, Harry King from BWT Lechner Racing could throw a spanner in the works: The Brit relegated the Dutchman to second place in the two opening races of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany 2024 in Imola.

The first appearance of no fewer than 12 drivers in the Rookie Classification, who are contesting their first full season in the Supercup, will also be exciting. This means that the starting grid is filled with many ambitious youngsters. The experience of recent years shows that there will definitely be one or two racing diamonds among them.

Alongside the guest teams previously mentioned, the two Italian teams Ombra Racing and Dinamic Motorsport will bring ‘home advantage’ to the circuit at the start of the 2024 Supercup season. At Ombra Racing, the 2024 driver line-up will be completed by Rookie Lirim Zendeli (DEU), who joins Keagan Masters (ZAF) and Risto Vukov (MKD). At Dinamic Motorsport, on the other hand, two Rookies, Aldo Festante and Francesco Braschi (both ITA), have secured their first Supercup cockpit to chase points together with veteran Jaap van Lagen.
