Electric immediacy: Evolving the future of Porsche Customer Racing.

The Porsche GT4 e-Performance initiated a global tour in 2022, unveiling its all-electric capabilities to the automotive world. In China, the car will finalise its Asia tour for 2023 as part of the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition.

The Porsche GT4 e-Performance undertakes a remarkable world tour, traversing the globe from the holy asphalt at Goodwood's Hillclimb, the frosty terrain of Sweden during the Race of Champions to the sun-soaked tracks of California's Laguna Seca at Rennsport Reunion 7, among others. Furthermore, the prototype ventured into the vibrant technophile markets of Singapore and Japan before being exposed at the 2023 Auto Guangzhou in China Mid-November. Each stop has ignited a frenzy of enthusiasm for Porsche's possibilities of electric customer racing, leaving an indelible mark on the international motorsport stage.

The Porsche GT4 e-Performance Tour began at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2022, where it immediately took 2nd place in the hillclimb race from a standing start. Later that year, the prototype travelled to Leipzig, Germany, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Porsche factory. In 2023, the all-electric prototype, driven by Porsche works driver Richard Lietz, made show runs at the high-profile Race of Champions Snow+Ice event in Sweden. It also had other smaller appearances with partners and was a guest entrant at the Festival of Dreams in Hockenheim. Furthermore, the world tour then continued to America for the South by Southwest Conference in Austin, Texas in March. The GT4 e-Performance also completed show runs at the IMSA Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen race weekend in Watkins Glen. Subsequently, the highlight of the North American tour was the Rennsport Reunion 7 at Laguna Seca in California. An international mecca for Porsche enthusiasts who gather around one of the most famous corners in motorsport history, the Corkscrew.

Introducing a new era in customer racing.

During its stopovers in Singapore and Japan, the widespread enthusiasm for the state-of-the-art technology featured in the fully-electric drivetrain contrasted with the American and European perception. The Asian markets are known for their passion for innovative engineering solutions. However, the Japanese motorsport community traditionally thinks in terms of internal combustion engines. In Singapore, the all-electric prototype was located at the Porsche NOW pop-up at Guoco Tower in Tanjong Pagar during the Grand Prix weekend. There was quite a lot of attention on the entire history of the project, ranging all the way back to the Mission R and its impact on the world of electrified racing. For instance, its 18-inch Michelin race tyres with a 63% of their composition originating from sustainable sources, including orange and lemon peel, pine resin, and metallic waste achieved a significant impression onto the visitors, in a country defined by a stringent waste disposal system.

The Japanese audience at the Porsche Experience Center Tokyo was very enthusiastic about the technological advancements concerning the cooling system and electric drivetrain of the GT4 e-Performance. Ultimately, the most discerning aspect of this racing marvel attracting international attention is its tireless dedication to a new era of racing. Underneath the elegant exterior, the GT4 e-Performance harnesses the potency of a breathtaking 1,088 hp (800 kW) in qualification mode, alluding to its race-derived roots and Porsche's commitment to cutting-edge technology. It seamlessly switches to a consistent 603 hp (450 kW) during a 30-minute race, aligning lap times and top speeds with the formidable 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
