For over 40 years, 911 race cars with the addition RSR have been developed for motorsports specifically to conquer competitions and race series.
From 2013–2022, the factory team around Alexander Stehling (Head of Operations FIA WEC) and Thomas Laudenbach (Head of Porsche Motorsport) has celebrated many triumphs in the GTE-Pro class: Podium successes throughout the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Series, triumphs in the great classic Le Mans, the 1000 Miles of Sebring, the 24-Hours of Daytona or the Road Atlanta. Each one of these names unerringly entwined with the Porsche 911 RSR.

The drivers of the 911 RSR’s success man the cockpit of number #91: factory driver Gianmaria Bruni from Italy and the Austrian Richard Lietz. This 911 RSR works team set up a new distance record for GTE vehicles during this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans: 4,769 kilometers. In its sister vehicle bearing the number #92, the drivers Michael Christensen and Kevin Estre push its limits – scoring a win in the WEC GTE-Pro class during 2019 and recently improving the chances for the 2022 world championship title during the 6 Hours of Fuji.
All these successes make it all the much harder to say goodbye to the 911 RSR in the GTE-Pro class. It is the last works engagement with the Porsche 911 RSR throughout the FIA World Endurance Championship WEC. During the 8 Hours of Bahrain on November 12, the 911 RSR will bear a brand-new livery to leave a lasting final impression and give its last works engagement in the GTE-Pro class a bittersweet note. This race promises to be a last brilliant appearance under the hot sky of Bahrain.
